When Kathryn and Elliana told us they were planning a small, intentional backyard wedding filled with their closest family and friends, we knew this would be something special. These two brought all the heart, humor, and love to their day, and it was truly an honor to be part of it.
From heartfelt handfasting vows to surprise dance moments (with plenty of UNO and blackjack on the side), every bit of their celebration reflected who they are as a couple: joyful, genuine, and surrounded by the most supportive community.

Why Backyard Weddings Are So Magical
Backyard weddings are the ultimate vibe for couples who want to ditch the stress and lean into what matters most: love, family, and chosen family. You get to create an environment that feels completely yours. That is exactly what Kathryn and Elliana did.
They transformed their family’s backyard into a twinkling celebration space with handmade decor, lush florals, and cozy string lights.
Their guests, about 35 in total, were able to mix, mingle, and celebrate in a space that felt intimate and inviting.
The flow of the day was relaxed but meaningful. There were no rushed timelines, just beautiful moments unfolding naturally.
If you are considering a backyard wedding, we say go for it. You will never regret celebrating in a space filled with your people and your story.

Highlights From Kathryn and Elliana’s Wedding
Emotional First Touch and Letter Exchange
These two chose to have a first touch instead of a first look. They held hands around the corner of the house while exchanging handwritten letters. It was a beautiful, grounding moment before walking down the aisle.
Handfasting and Oath Stone Ceremony
During their ceremony, officiated by Elliana’s mom, Ladelle, Kathryn and Elliana incorporated a handfasting with a rose quartz “oath stone” to symbolize their vows being set in stone. Their walk back up the aisle with their hands still bound was one of the most joyful moments of the day.
Candid Reception Vibes
The reception kicked off with a first dance to “Before You” by Benson Boone. Yes, we cried. The night flowed into heartfelt speeches, a sparkler send-off, and the best kind of late-night fun: blackjack, UNO, and lots of laughter with their closest friends.
Intentional Details and Handmade Decor
The space was lovingly designed by Ladelle and friends with hand-built arches, floral arrangements, and beautiful tablescapes. We made sure to document every little detail because the love and care poured into them was obvious.
