About Us – Who are Hey Love Studios?
YOUR QUEER,
CAMERA-TOTING,
HYPE SQUAD!
Queer-owned. Creative-led. Two hype babes capturing love with heart. We’re Adeline and Valerie, your married duo serving up inclusive photo and video magic across Texas, Arkansas, San Francisco, and anywhere your story calls us.
We don’t just photograph weddings. We bring all the energy, empathy, and main-character vibes so you feel seen, hyped, and fully celebrated from the first hello to the last dance.
Who We Are
Our Story
We’re Adeline & Valerie—a wife-and-wife team capturing all the joyful, awkward, beautiful moments that make your love story unique. As queer, immigrant creatives, we show up for every identity, every celebration, every body.
We started Hey Love Studio because we wanted every couple to feel truly seen, hyped, and celebrated, no matter who they are or who they love. As a queer, married team, we know how powerful it is to have your story documented by someone who just gets it.
Our work is rooted in celebration, radical inclusivity, and showing up for every identity, every body, and every kind of chosen family. Our favorite weddings are the ones filled with belly laughs, questionable dance moves, and happy tears. If you believe awkward hugs and inside jokes deserve a place in your wedding album, you’re definitely our kind of people.
Hey Love Studio exists so every love story, including yours, gets the space and celebration it truly deserves.

Craft Meets Precision
Meet Your Duo
Adeline (“the heart”) - they/she
Photography is my love language. Losing my grandma when I was five taught me just how powerful a single photo can be. This is more than a job for me—it’s about helping you hold onto love, memory, and every little bit of joy.
Valerie (“the brain”) - she/they
I believe every moment deserves to be truly lived and truly seen. I bring all the calm, a little bit of nerdy organization, and endless curiosity so your session is easy, affirming, and super fun. You’ll leave feeling like your best self—promise.

What We Value
Because love deserves to be seen—exactly as it is.
Love deserves to be seen in all its realness.
Photography with us feels like a celebration, not a performance. As queer, immigrant, and neurodivergent creatives, we know what it’s like to wonder if you’ll truly be seen. That’s exactly why we show up to honor all love, every story, and every joyful, awkward, beautiful moment. Loud, quiet, goofy, tender—your love is our favorite thing.
Extremely timely, flexible, professional, and so fun to be around! I would recommend to anyone, especially for an event. They captured the best moments and the whole family was very happy with how our pictures turned out.

Get To Know Us More
Let’s keep it real. Here are some of the questions we get asked when meeting others for the first time. We’re going to spill the tea because we believe sharing our story and a few fun facts helps you feel right at home with us.
We met in South Korea, thanks to a group chat for queer folks. Our first hangout involved cake and a lot of misunderstandings. Valerie has a gift for breaking down walls, and Adeline’s took some time—but by 2020, we were officially girlfriends. Turns out, it only takes a little time and adventure to find your person. Ask us for the full story if you want all the dirty details!
Before Hey Love Studio, we were both teachers! Valerie taught English to everyone from preschoolers to adults, and loved helping others find their passion for language and reading. Adeline also taught for years but quickly realized she loved decorating her classroom and celebrating her students more than actually teaching lessons. Most of her free time was spent walking around with her iPhone, capturing everyday moments.
While waiting on her USA green card, Adeline was able to turn her passion for photography into her life’s work and never looked back. Valerie later “retired” from teaching to join Adeline full-time, and now we get to celebrate love, family, and real stories together every day.
We love playing the “Where’s Adeline’s accent from?” game so we’re not giving it away just yet! Here are a few hints: think biltong, the Great Ocean Road, and a tea-loving boss. Take your best guess when we meet, and maybe you’ll win bragging rights!
Our Dallas story starts with love and a little international drama. We wanted to get married, but gay marriage isn’t legal in South Korea, so Adeline came to meet Valerie’s parents and decided to stick around. While Valerie finished her teaching degree, Adeline built new roots (and got obsessed with frozen margaritas). Now we call Texas home, but honestly, we’re always looking for any excuse to travel, especially if it means celebrating love somewhere a bit more rainbow-friendly.
Adeline is always obsessed with whatever the newest lens is, while Valerie keeps reaching for her trusty 85mm. Honestly, different lenses shine in different situations, so you’ll usually find us packing at least five options each time. That way, we’re ready for every unique moment and all the magic your day brings.
When we say “the heart” and “the brain,” we’re talking about our dynamic as a couple! This started when Adeline would send Valerie Heart and Brain comics by The Awkward Yeti at the beginning of their relationship. We realized that, as a queer couple, phrases like “who wears the pants” never felt right for us. But “heart” (the dreamer) and “brain” (the realist) fit perfectly!
Now, it’s our favorite question for other couples too: who’s the heart and who’s the brain? It’s all about celebrating different energies, not stereotypes.
Honestly, off days are rare for us, but when we do take a break, you’ll usually find us outside, swimming or birding. Our latest win was spotting our first painted bunting at Palo Duro Canyon! We also love cheering for the South African rugby team (the Springboks) with a big bowl of popcorn and pickles. Nature, snacks, and a little sports – what more do we need?
