We're Adeline and Valerie, a married queer couple who film weddings across Dallas and DFW. Adeline runs the film side, Valerie runs photo, and we work the same day as one team.

It deserves safety.
It deserves affirmation.
It deserves storytelling that feels like you.

Because let’s be honest, Arkansas is beautiful.
But not every vendor understands queer love.

We do.

We don’t just document weddings, elopements, and affirming sessions"
We create space for you to breathe, laugh, cry, and exist without explaining yourselves.

Who we are

Queer-owned.
Genuinely your people.

We're Adeline and Valerie — a wife-and-wife team who built Hey Love Studio because we knew what it felt like to search for a photographer and quietly wonder whether we'd be celebrated or just tolerated.

Adeline leads on film. Valerie leads on photography. When you book both, you get two focused people rather than one person trying to do everything — and two people who have been shooting side by side long enough to stay out of each other's frame.

Most couples decide on photography first. Film is the thing people debate, cut for budget, and then wish they hadn't.

Photos hold the frame. Film holds the sound. It holds your voice cracking in the middle of a vow you practiced twelve times. It holds the specific way your person laughs when they're overwhelmed. It holds your grandmother saying something you'll want to hear again in thirty years, in her actual voice.

There's a particular version of this for queer couples. A lot of us have spent years being careful about how much we show in public. A wedding film is a record of the day you stopped doing that — the full volume version, with the sound on.

We're not going to tell you every couple needs film. But we've never had a couple tell us they regretted it, and we've had several tell us they wish they'd made room for it.

Say yes to these queer humans
We film and photograph couples across Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and throughout the metroplex — queer, straight, and everyone in between. Whether you're getting married in a Deep Ellum warehouse, a Frisco garden under the grapevines, an art gallery in Fort Worth, or at the Tarrant County courthouse on a Tuesday afternoon, we bring cinematic, documentary-style coverage to every love story.

As a queer-owned studio, we know what it's like to hire a vendor and spend the first meeting quietly reading the room. You won't do that with us. We show up as two people who are genuinely glad you found each other, and we film the day the way it actually happened — no posing you into a template, no explaining your relationship to anyone holding a camera.

Wedding Videography & Photography in Dallas, TX

Representation Isn’t a Trend. It’s Essential.

When your photographer and videographer are two vendors who met that morning, they get in each other's shots all day. We're married. We already know where the other one is standing.

Photo and film together, not competing

The order it happened in. The people who were really there. No re-staged first looks.

We film what actually happened

Vows, toasts, and ceremony sound recorded on dedicated mics — not camera audio, which is how you end up with a film where the most important words of your life are muffled under a PA system.

We capture audio properly

No videographer should be the thing your guests remember. We work with long lenses and we move on the edges.

We stay out of the aisle

How we film a wedding day

We've filmed and shot in plenty of other places around the metroplex. We're listing them because we know the spaces — the light, the layout, where the good angles are — and that knowledge shows up in your film.

What we're not doing is vouching for how these venues treat queer couples. We haven't asked them directly. Use the email in the next section and ask them yourself, and if you get a good answer we'd genuinely love to know.

Wedding and ceremony venues

Hidden Creek Events — Heath, about 30 minutes east of Dallas. All-inclusive modern barn in private forest, ceremony gazebo, ballroom with a grand staircase and soaring ceilings. Holds up to 300.

event1013 — Historic Downtown Plano. Urban and industrial, authentic architecture with modern finishes. Around 200 guests, and the building has enough character that you don't need much decor.

Tarrant County Courthouse — Fort Worth. We've documented courthouse ceremonies here and know how fast they move and where to stand. (Link → Tarrant County courthouse guide)

Backyards and private homes — Some of our favorite days. No coordinator, no imposed timeline, and the light is whatever the house gives you.

Session and portrait locations

Dallas Arboretum — 66 acres on White Rock Lake. Couples, engagement, and proposal sessions. (Link → Dallas Arboretum sessions guide)

Fort Worth Botanic Garden — Where we shot Abbey and Caroline's engagement session. Lots of distinct backdrops in a small footprint.

Texas Discovery Gardens — Fair Park, Dallas. The butterfly house films beautifully, though conditions in there are their own challenge.

Downtown McKinney — The historic square. We've shot proposals here and know the corners that work.

Other DFW venues and locations we've worked at

Great for: industrial aesthetics, downtown skyline in your film, couples who want the venue to themselves

Hickory Street Annex — Deep Ellum, Dallas

Built in 1921 as a Gulf Oil distribution center, now hundred-year-old industrial buildings around a courtyard. Exposed brick, steel trusses, floor-to-ceiling windows looking at downtown. One event per day, so the place is yours.

We've been on site, we asked them directly how they work with queer couples, and we got a clear answer. Restrooms are gender-neutral.

We'll be honest about the limits of what we know. We haven't worked a wedding here, and we can't speak for them at the level we can for Artspace 111. What we can tell you is the space is beautiful, they answered the question directly, and nothing raised a flag. Go look, and ask them the same questions you'd ask anyone.

We've visited

Great for: garden ceremonies, guest counts under 100, everyone getting ready in one house, golden hour under the grapevines

Magnolia Terrace — Frisco

A restored vintage home in downtown Frisco with the garden doing most of the talking. The ceremony space sits under a transparent cover with crystal chandeliers and cafe lighting, there's an outdoor vineyard area under grapevines that most couples use for cocktail hour, and a secret garden with a wishing well. Caps around 100, and the house comes with dressing suites and a prep kitchen so everyone gets ready on site.

We're filming a wedding here this October. It's affirming, and the intimate scale means a film that feels close rather than sprawling.

Wedding booked

Great for: sunset ceremonies, visually distinctive settings, smaller guest counts, chosen family staying on site

Crescent Moon — Blue Ridge, TX

An hour northeast of Dallas. Two shipping containers and a black barn, gardens, a big firepit, one of the better sunsets in North Texas. Caps at 100 guests, with luxury domes and tents sleeping up to 20 on site.

We shot an engagement session here and we're filming a wedding here this year. Aaron and Erin run it as a genuine family business. No heteronormative language, none of the questions queer couples get tired of answering, and gender-neutral restrooms — a small thing that tells you someone thought about it before you arrived.

Full guide → Artspace111 as an LGBTQ-friendly wedding venue

Artspace 111 — Fort Worth

We're a preferred vendor here, which is the clearest signal a venue can give: they send couples to us. It's a working art gallery, so the walls change and the light is genuinely good.

Artspace 111 does the things that actually matter rather than the things that look good in a bio. LGBTQ staff on their team. Images of same-sex couples in their own marketing. No heteronormative language, and nobody has ever asked one of our couples which of them is the bride.

Preferred vendor

We're not going to list every venue in the metroplex. Here are four we can speak for, in order of how confidently we can do it. That ordering is deliberate — we'd rather tell you where our knowledge runs out than flatten everything into one list.

Dallas and DFW venues we've worked with

Book your date with us

Across parts of the South and Midwest, queer couples may encounter spaces that are not fully inclusive. We share trusted vendor recommendations and venue insights to help you build a supportive wedding team.

Ultimately, hiring an LGBTQ wedding photographer means working with someone who celebrates your love in a way that feels natural and empowering.

Guidance in Finding Affirming Vendors and Venues

Your wedding does not need to follow outdated expectations. Whether you are getting ready together, walking each other down the aisle, or designing a timeline that prioritizes connection over tradition, we support storytelling that reflects your identities.

Comfortable Direction and Inclusive Language

The way a photographer communicates matters. Gentle posing guidance, gender-neutral language, and respect for body autonomy help couples feel confident and relaxed in front of the camera.

Freedom from Traditional Gender Roles

Many LGBTQ weddings center chosen family as much as biological relatives. We document these relationships intentionally and respectfully, recognizing their significance in your story. We also navigate layered family dynamics with sensitivity during portraits, ceremonies, and candid coverage.

Understanding Chosen Family and Complex Dynamics

Wedding planning can include conversations about visibility, comfort, and acceptance. Working with a queer photographer means you do not need to explain who you are or worry about inclusive language. This emotional safety allows you to focus on celebrating your relationship.

Safety and Emotional Affirmation

Book your date with us

Choosing a photographer who understands queer identity and lived experiences can shape how supported and relaxed you feel throughout your wedding journey. While many talented vendors can create beautiful images, an LGBTQ wedding photographer brings awareness, empathy, and cultural understanding that helps couples feel seen.

What Dallas area venues have you worked with?

Yes. We're based in both Little Rock, Arkansas and Dallas, Texas, and we travel across the South and nationally for destination weddings and elopements.

Do you travel outside Dallas for weddings?

Two separate vendors meet for the first time on your wedding morning and spend the day negotiating for position, often appearing in each other's shots. We're a married couple who have shot together for years. We already know where the other one will be standing.

What's the advantage of booking photo and video with the same team?

Photos hold the frame; film holds the sound. A film captures your vows in your actual voices, the toasts, and the ambient sound of the day in a way still images can't. If budget forces a choice, most couples start with photography — but among couples who booked both, we've yet to hear one say they regretted the film.

Should we book a wedding videographer as well as a photographer?

Pricing depends on hours of coverage, whether you're booking film only or photo and film together, and travel. Most couples book photo and video as a package because it costs less than hiring two separate vendors and the coverage is better coordinated.

How much does LGBTQ wedding videography cost in Dallas?

Yes. Hey Love Studio is a queer-owned wedding film and photography studio, and LGBTQ couples are who we built the business for. We're a married same-sex couple ourselves. We film two-bride weddings, two-groom weddings, non-binary partnerships, and elopements across Dallas, Fort Worth, and the wider DFW area, as well as Arkansas.
